Baseball Drop Doubleheader at Blue Mountain

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - The Williams Baptist baseball team dropped a pair of games to the Blue Mountain College Rams on Thursday afternoon, 4-0 and 7-3.

Game One

The Eagles didn't have much going in the first game as they were being no-hit till the top of the seventh when Jacob Brown (SR/Pinson, AL) hit a double that proved to be the only hit of the game.

The Rams scored a run in the first and second innings and then two in the sixth.

Brennan White (SR/Fredericktown, MO) pitched a complete game for the Eagles, giving up four runs off seven hits, striking out three and walking four.

Game Two

The Eagles were able to get the bats going a little bit in the second game. They scored a run in the fifth when Seth Gage (FR/Jonesboro, Ark.) scored off a RBI groundout by Brady Smith (SO/Cave City, Ark.). Trent Pobst (SR/Scott City, MO) scored in the sixth off a RBI groundout by Brody Ninemire (SR/Viola, AR), and Andrew Cooper (JR/Paragould, Ark.) scored in the seventh off a RBI fielder's choice by Jake Hutson (FR/Salem, AR).

Kender Carroll (SO/Bentonville, AR) got the start on the mound for the Eagles. He lasted 3.0 innings, giving up seven runs off eight hits and striking out three. Heath Taylor (JR/Wynne, Ark.) pitched 3.0 innings in relief, giving up four hits and striking out three.
