Williams Finishes Second in 2026 AMC Presidents’ Cup

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (5/6/26)  – Williams Baptist University posted its highest finish in program history in the 2025-26 American Midwest Conference President's Cup in second place, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon.

The AMC Presidents' Cup is awarded to the institution that accumulates the most points, determined by final regular season standings in the 17 conference championship sports.

Williams earned a total of 262.5 points to finish in second place out of 10 full members in the AMC.  Columbia finished first to claim the all-sports trophy.  UHSP finished third in the standings with 250 points, and Central Baptist and Mission tied for fourth place with 187.5 points each.

"This runner-up finish in the AMC Presidents' Cup is a powerful testament to the grit and consistency of our student-athletes and coaches," said WBU Athletic Director Mitch Mathis.  "Securing top-two finishes in our core soccer and basketball programs, alongside a championship run in softball, proves that WBU is a premier destination for competitive excellence and Christ-centered character in every season of play."

Williams claimed its fifth AMC softball regular season championship trophy in program history to boost the Eagles in the standings.

Eagles men's and women's basketball each made an appearance in the AMC Tournament championship games, and the Lady Eagles made their third consecutive NAIA Tournament appearance.

Lady Eagles soccer posted its highest finish in the standings in program history in second place.  Men's soccer also finished in second place with a 5-1 record in conference play.

Women's cross country had its first NAIA National Qualifier in program history this season as the Lady Eagles put up a third place finish at the AMC Championships, and men's and women's golf both finished second at the AMC Championships.

Williams also finished second in the 2025-26 Valerie Beeson Women's Sports Championship with 167.5 points, and third in the 2025-26 Lowell Pitzer Men's Sports Championship with 95 points.
